Fba supports system16 but it's hit or miss on the game in performance.

I'm hoping they can port the newer sega system16 code so I can finally play some games properly. One game is Night Slashers and that works great once you overclock.

The plus version is currently being worked on to make new games playable by porting newer code from newer mames. So lr-fba is my main arcade emulator and if I get slowdowns, then I try it in lr-fba-2012 and then lr-mame2003-plus. It supports msu-1 games but overclocking is required to avoid random slowdowns with transparencies.įor arcade, I also want the latest emulation but as soon as I get a performance hit, I switch to an older emulator. Snes-9x-next? Didn't that get turned into lr-snes9x-2010 which is the default? For snes, I want the latest version the pi can handle, so I stick with lr-snes9x. It also has better audio emulation than Picodrive. Genesis/Megadrive's default emulator is Genesis-plus-gx so no issues there. Either way, the default palettes are horrible. The colors are way too dull like the real thing. I use the unsaturated palette, though purists might want to use the nes-classic one. I asked the devs if they can change the default to help with noobs, but was ignored. You can change the palette in both nes emus so that's irrelevant. I have to adjust the shader's brightness and then it looks very good. I only use libretro emulators because I refuse to play these old games without the great crt-pi shader. The defaults for the pi3 are pretty decent. I know a lot of this is all down to personal preference but was just curious what everyone’s thoughts were and what experiences you’ve had with certain emulators compared to others within RetroPie. Personally couldn’t tell much difference between the ‘next’ version and the standard Snes9x in terms of visuals and performance although I will probably have to try a few other games too see if there’s any differences. this one I can’t seem to settle on quite as easily as the others. again it could just be me but personally find the visuals a slightly bit more higher in quality when compared to picodrive. just seem to prefer this one over fceumm for some reason, could be me but find input lag to be slightly better plus colours seem a bit less saturated. Curious to know if everyone tends to stick with the defaults or if anyone prefers certain emulators over others?īeen playing around a bit and seem to have settled on these at the moment for some of the consoles, (I don’t use any filters or overlays etc).
